Also, in keeping with the menu fare and tap beer selection, this local bar is one of a handful of places where you can catch European soccer matches.

Bronx Bar

The Bronx Bar in Houston gets rocking on the weekends with college kids looking to get their heavy drink on or to try their luck at hooking up. DJs spin a mix of rock, house and hip-hop at this local Houston bar to add some musical backdrop to the sounds of clinking beer bottles and shot glasses being slammed down on the bar. Unfortunately at Brasil, the bar aspect isn’t as well rounded as the coffeehouse/ healthy eatery one because they only serve beer and wine, but this local Houston bar is a perfect place to kick off an evening with something out of the ordinary to bolster your hipster quotient.

Al’s Sports Bar & Grill - Westheimer

With two locations to serve their respective neighborhoods, Al’s Sports Bar and Grill is a Houston local bar institution; a great place to down a beer, catch a game and get your booze fueled party on. The mix of regulars at Al’s Sport Bar spans the age spectrum from young to old and if you’ve pounded a cold one there or snacked on their bar fare, you’re probably considered by the staff to be one of them.

6th Street Bar and Grill

This modest Houston local bar and grill sports one of the best people watching decks around and bending your elbow at the 6th Street Bar and Grill ain’t bad either. This local Houston bar about a dozen beers on tap paired with a wide selection of liquor and wine to whet your libation appetite with their best selections often making it on to the daily specials board and the 6th Street Bar and Grill, as the name so implies, also serves up some better than average bar fare in case that other appetite starts making some noise.
